Adaptations of Newman’s Novels
Leicester Bay publishes four of J.D. Newman’s novels:
- Sandy and the Weird Sisters
- Sandy and the Dance of Faith
- Clara and the Mermaids
- Make Believe Twins
The first three of those titles form the Sandy Hunter Trilogy. All three of these novels, which depict the young protagonists’ experiences with the arts, have been adapted for the stage. Sandy and the Weird Sisters was presented at the Open Eye Theatre in upstate New York, and a radio theatre version of Clara and the Dance of Faith was read on WIOX, a public radio station in the Catskills. The dramatization of Sandy and the Dance of Faith is written to be performed by a girl and a mother. More information about the scripts can be found by following this link:
