The American Alliance for Theatre and Education is looking for a Utah high school or middle school to host a three-day Playwrights In Our Schools Residency with a national award-winning playwright between January and May 2015. Applications are due December 1. In recent years, Playwrights In Our Schools residencies have been hosted by DaVinci Academy, Park City High School, the University of Utah Youth Theatre, Arches Academy, West High School, and Independence High School. AATE is also accepting applications from playwrights. Playwrights for the PIOS residency must be current members of AATE at the time of their application. They must also have received one of seven national awards in playwriting for young people, as listed on the information sheet and application form. Playwrights who have participated in this program in recent years include Max Bush, Ric Averill, Barry Kornhauser, Claudia Haas, and Brian Geuhring.
